Prototype status
Long Ball Markets is a product prototype and business concept under development. No entity named on this site is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, or any other regulator. No instrument described on this site exists, is listed on any exchange, or is available for trading by anyone.

The intended regulatory structure
- Binary ladder contracts are designed for potential listing on an existing CFTC-registered Designated Contract Market (DCM), under that market's rulebook, self-certification process, and position limits. Long Ball Markets would act as index provider and product designer, not as the exchange.
- Swap and collar products are designed as bilaterally negotiated OTC transactions available exclusively to Eligible Contract Participants under ISDA documentation, subject to applicable CFTC swap rules, including reporting and any dealer-registration thresholds.
- League integrity: product policy prohibits any participant with game influence from holding short exposure to players they can affect, with attestation and position-reporting obligations designed to mirror existing sports-wagering information-sharing agreements.
Risk disclosure
Derivatives involve substantial risk of loss. Binary contracts can and regularly do expire worthless. Swap exposures can produce losses exceeding amounts initially posted. An index based on athletic performance is exposed to injury, illness, retirement, suspension, and data-source risk. Past performance — including every backtest shown on this site — is not indicative of future results.

WAR data referenced in prototypes is sourced from Baseball-Reference's published data files; a commercial launch would proceed under a data license from Sports Reference LLC. Player names are used for identification. MLB and team marks belong to their owners; no affiliation with or endorsement by Major League Baseball, its clubs, or its players is claimed or implied.
Waitlist data
The waitlist form on this prototype stores nothing server-side and sends nothing anywhere — submissions exist only in your browser session. A production launch would publish a real privacy policy before collecting anything.
